Description
Some development teams only have one plan in Bamboo and multiple branches. This is a common workflow for a smaller OpenSource project that may have branches for releases and utilize only 3-4 branches at once.
In these cases, the suppression of branches from the dashboard makes it very hard for developers to see, at a glance what's going on with the two active releases. In fact, we've had complaints from developers who can no longer FIND branches anymore because the branch icon is so tiny. ( http://build.tdar.org/bamboo/allPlans.action )
A proposed solution:
- enable a configuration to list branches on the dashboard
- leverage metadata about branches (open/closed status in tools like Mercurial, frequency of build, date of last checkin) to determine what branches to show and what branches to hide.
I recognize that some projects have hundreds of branches, and tens of projects, but I think that our case is not uncommon.
