Allow organization administrators to delete organizations

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Implementation of New Features Policy

Update 9/17/22: We are excited to announce that the ability to delete an organization inside of Adminhub is currently being released. If the feature is not yet available in your UI please standby as we are using a phased rollout approach. For more information on Organization Delete please see: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/delete-your-atlassian-organization/

You can learn more by reading Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Summary

If you create an organization, you only have the option to remove verified domains and linked sites functionality, but do not have the option to remove the created organization. You are able to rename the organization, but not remove it completely.

      Suggestion

Allow organization administrators to delete organization as this can make the functionality confusing.

      Note

You can cancel the subscription from Billing. Refer to the document Unsubscribe from Atlassian Access for more details.

It is also possible to transfer an organization into another organization, and thereby "delete" the original organization.

"3 days ago" (4 now) There is no active sub. There are no billing details. The trial is over. WTF!

It's ok, I just bothered support; so, this resolution does not resolve the issue - we still have to open a support ticket to get the damn emails to stop for the next 60+ days.

            Hey e2f3ee84b394,

The experience you mentioned is behavior we intended for with this feature for two reasons.

            1. We had a major incident around 6 months ago where we hard deleted customer data. As a result of this, we have invested in controls to ensure this never happens again....This is one of them.
            2. Like most subscriptions, your billing isn't actually finished until the end of the month.

Hope that provides some insight here

            Best,

            Griffin

As far as I am concerned, this is not resolved, as the "last Product" issue still prevents us from deleting orgs. Why do you insist on keeping data around for longer than your user wants it? Let us DELETE IMMEDIATELY.

The damn Premium trial expired 3 days ago, it says I can access until Dec 11. and the product still will not delete (only cancel), thus preventing the org from being deleted. This is complete idiocy.
