Issue Summary
From: https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/blog/2023/05/atlassian-cloud-changes-may-1-to-may-8-2023
To better align the site-admins group with these improvements, we’re also renaming it to org-admins.
Sites/orgs that have been created prior to May 2023 have a group called site-admins that provided "site admin" level privileges. Since May 2023, the site-admins group has been renamed to org-admins. When a user is assigned the org admin role, the user is provided with membership to the org-admins group.
Sites created prior to May 2023 don't have the org-admins group - the group name is still displayed as site-admins. So, on these sites - when a user is assigned the org admin role, they are added to a group called site-admins group. Functionally, the group works like the org-admins group in newer Cloud sites/orgs.
Steps to Reproduce
When a user is assigned the org admin role - the user is made a member of a group called site-admins
Expected Results
When the site admin role is enabled on an org, the site-admins group should be renamed to org-admins
Actual Results
The site-admins group name is left unchanged. This is confusing because:
- When a user is given the org admin role - they are added to the site-admins group
- When a user is given the site admin role - they aren't added to any groups (by design)
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
