Multi-language support for Identity services, emails and User Management

      Problem Definition

      Atlassian Cloud support 22 languages, but Identity services do not. The following services/features should be translated into languages other than English:

      • Login
      • User Management
      • Migrate to Atlassian account (portal customers)
      • Invitation, verification and password reset emails.
        • Invitation/Verification emails is the first email that our users get from Atlassian

      Suggested Solution

      • Offer language packs for Identity services.

      Why this is important

      • Atlassian supports language packs, so verification, password reset and invitation emails should also support multiple languages.
      • User Managment should also support multiple languages.
      • Multi-language support for Identity Services is critical to provide our customers unified localized user experience.
      • Identity Serivces should keep user's language preference in addition to Country and Timezone.
      • All applications can refer to user's language preference in the following order, recommendation :
        • Site preference (user can set it as detecting browser setting automatically, auto-detection should be default)
        • Browser preference
        • Identity Service preference - keep user's language preference across our services, also used for product agnostic services like transaction emails, newsletter etc.
        • Site default language.
