Issue Summary
When there are no project-level automation rules enabled for a project, navigating to the board (Kanban/Scrum) and clicking on the lightning icon results in a greyed-out option for Add a manually triggered automation, hence unable to create an automation rule directly from the board.
When you hover over the option, the following message is displayed despite having the 'Administer Projects' permission for the project;
You must be a project admin to add an automation
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Kanban/Scrum board
- Ensure that there are no project-level rules
- Navigate to the board
- Click on the lightning icon
- The option to Add a manually triggered automation is greyed-out
Expected Results
Ability to create a manually triggered automation rule directly from the board
Actual Results
The following message is displayed when hovering over the greyed-out option for 'Add a manually triggered automation'
You must be a project admin to add an automation
Workaround
Create an automation rule following one of the workarounds below;
- Navigate to Project settings > Automation > Create rule
- Navigate to an issue > Actions > Create automation
