Ability to use smart values in User Input for manually triggered Automation rule

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

Currently Automation for Jira provides capabilities to have user input when executing manually triggered automation rule. When the rule is executed, there is a pop-up to provide values for requested fields. Fields, type of fields and values are defined within the Automation rule, however, there is no option to dynamically provide value options, e.g. via Smart Values. For example, we want to have Affects versions automatically fetched and displayed when running the rule. We configure user input, add Affects Version and set value to issue.versions. But since it is not supported, no values will be fetched and displayed.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create Automation Rule manually triggered
      2. Configure Require User input within the rule and set some smart value
      3. Execute rule on an issue, observer that smart values are not supported

      Expected Results

When smart value is set in the automation rule, it should convert it to actual values and display those as options.

      Actual Results

Only predefined values are shown. In case global smart value (e.g. issue.versions ) is used in options, smart value will be shown on rule execution instead of values.

      Workaround

Provide values manually within User Input section in Automation Rule
