Visual workflow builder as a more user-friendly way to create and edit Automation rules, e.g. to show if/else or branching

XMLWordPrintable

You asked, we listened! Usability of the existing rule builder is a known customer pain point. Based on your feedback, we’re working hard to update visual elements of the rule builder to help simplify the end-to-end user experience across Atlassian's products in two main vectors:

      1. Simplifying the upfront selection pages for triggers and actions by means of improved information architecture and progressive disclosure.
      1. Ensuring the rule overview shows where a users is in the rule building process and what will happen next.

      Stay tuned!

Visual workflow builder for creating and editing Automation rules

      • "I would love to have a more advanced tree structure available in which I can visually put together the automation logic. A simplified version of Unreal Engine blueprinting would be very cool to have."
      • "Need better visual builder"
      • "not extremely intuitive at first but you get the hang of it quick enough. visual representation helps a lot."
      • "This entire automation process is not user-friendly or intuitive. It reaquires an in-depth understanding of Jira automation to execute. This should be intuive, like a drag & drop feature."
      • "The UI for setting up complex if/else rules is not intuitive."
      • "Would love to see this visualized as a diagram. Especially if it could be shown as a widget on Confluence so we can document our automation rules and add why we have them etc, explain the thinking behind the conditions etc"
