Automation to support converting a Sub-Task to a Task (and vice versa)

      Issue Summary

      Editing the Issue Type using Automation for Jira to convert a Sub-Task to a Task does not remove the sub-task to task relation.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create an Automation Rule that Edits the Issue Type field and set it to TASK.
      2. Run this rule in a Sub-Task.

      Expected Results

      Issue converted to sub-task and relation to parent task removed.

      Actual Results

      Only the issuetype changes. Issuelinks and parent task remains:

      • When trying to Convert it back to Sub-Task, we get an error message:

            Hi,

            Automation does not currently support converting from subtasks to tasks or vice versa. I've updated this ticket to be a feature request instead. But also added a small task to our backlog to improve our messaging so people are less likely to get themselves into this situation.
