Currently the action Send Email does not support Latin characters and other special characters like è. The character 'è' appears garbled as 'è' in automated emails. Even after setting the email client to UTF-8 encoding and HTML format emails enabled in the profile, and the email format settings are correctly configured.

Steps to replicate:

• Setup an automation rule with manual trigger or Scheduled trigger.
• Next, add the Send Email action in the rule with the below as content:

Sample Email content è Sample Email content

• Run the rule and check the Email sent from the rule.

Outcome:

Sample Email content è Sample Email content 

Expected Outcome:

Sample Email content è Sample Email content 

Workaround:

Found a fix for this by using the Xml encoding in the Jira automation rule. Please replace the email content with the below as we need to wrap the content inside xmlEncode function:
