Intermittent loop status in Automation

      Issue Summary

When executing an automation rule that has at least 10 "Create work item" actions with the "Copy Attachment from Current work item" option, the rule results in an intermittent loop status. The following error message is shown in the Audit Log:

Rule execution was stopped since an execution loop was detected. Please check *all* your rules and disable the 'Allow rule trigger' setting in 'Rule details' where it is not needed. We stopped execution after detecting a long chain of rules triggering other rules.
      Chain length:10

The rule fails in the 10th "Create work item" action and the execution will stop. The prior actions will be completed.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Have an automation rule with 10 or more "Create work item" actions, using the "Copy Attachment from Current work item" option in the 10th action at least.

      Expected Results

      The rule is executed successfully.

      Actual Results

The rule fails with a "Loop" status when it tries to execute the 10th "Create work item" action (which uses the "Copy Attachment from Current work item" option).

      Workaround

      • Remove the "Copy Attachment from Current work item" configuration from the "Create work item" actions in the affected rule; or:
      • Decompose the rule into multiple rules which contain less than 10 "Create work item" actions that use the "Copy Attachment from Current work item" configuration.
