Provide proper audit log for Automation rule blocked by IP Allowlist

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Problem Definition

Currently, if a site has an IP Allowlist configured to block the IP ranges from https://ip-ranges.atlassian.com/, and there is an Automation rule with "Send Web Request" action pointing to own site's "Incoming Webhook" automation rule, then the "Send Web Request" rule is blocked without any error visible in the audit log.

Below log is visible in the access logs:

IpAllowedRequestChecker:108 Source IP (18.234.32.xxx) was blocked by configured IP allowlist

      Suggested Solution

Record an audit log that indicates IP Allowlist has blocked the rule

      Workaround

Add all IPs from https://ip-ranges.atlassian.com/ to the Allowlist
