Support for specifying user name or ID in "Send email" action

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Summary:

Enhance the "Send email" action in automation by allowing users to specify a user name or ID as the email target. This would provide greater flexibility and precision in automating email notifications, similar to the existing support for groups.

      Current functionality:

Currently, the "Send email" action in automation supports sending emails to specified email addresses and groups. However, it does not allow for the direct specification of individual users using a user name or user ID.

      Proposed enhancement:

      • Allow the "Send email" action to accept a user name or user ID as a target for sending emails.
      • Support the use of smart values, such as "page.author.accountId", to dynamically select users based on page or content attributes.

      Benefits:

      1. Improved flexibility: Users can target specific individuals without needing to manually input or manage email addresses.
      2. Streamlined automation: Reduces the need for complex workarounds to achieve similar functionality, thereby simplifying the automation process and improving efficiency.
