The New Audit Log Experience make it more difficult to use the audit log

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Issue Summary

The secondary Expand details under "Show More" in the Audit Log added as part of the new Automation Audit Log experience tied to the improvements part of AUTO-36 make it more difficult to identify issues in and degug errors as well as hides details in the Audit log for diagnosing errors or auditing the actions performed.

Specifically relating to the announced feature:

bonus: audit log list provides a visual indicator that verbose information is available without the need to expand the log entry display

Details about the automation rule under the "Show More" section are segmented into blocks that are expandable but collapsed by default unless that section contains an error. Meaning it requires a minimum of 3 clicks just to see the issue key associated to the success or failed conditions.

The Primary issue with collapse by default approach is that having all the items collapsed by default adds in a lot of overhead in clicking to expand the desired details after already having to initially click on the "Show More" expand dialogue option.

      Suggestion:

Add in a toggle between "Expand ALL" or "Expand Errors only" leaving the current expand sections with the option to manually collapse other sections as desired
