Problem
Customers who use Jira Product Discovery (JPD) for strategic planning and goal-oriented work can't see the status of JPD work types (e.g., Ideas) in the Jira tab within a Goal. Today, that tab only reflects status for traditional Jira work types, leaving the status of JPD work invisible at the goal level.
Current workaround
Customers fall back to Jira-only work types like Milestones or Initiatives to track progress against a Goal. This forces an either/or choice, rather than allowing both, which is how many strategic planning workflows are actually structured.
Proposed solution
Make JPD work item statuses (Ideas and other JPD work types) visible and trackable in the Jira tab of a Goal, on equal footing with native Jira work types.
User benefit
- Teams can use Jira and JPD in combination to plan and execute against goals, rather than being pushed into one tool.
- Strategic discovery work in JPD becomes visible alongside delivery work in Jira, giving a complete picture of goal progress.
- Removes the need for duplicate/parallel tracking work items just to make progress visible at the goal level.
