A way to query the worklog from the Jira Cloud for Google Sheets add-on

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

Currently you can only query issue data (using a filter or JQL).

Some users have reported wanting to query the Jira worklog too.

e93e43186bc1 Thanks, I updated my example to show worklog.  You can submit a ticket from within the add-on by selecting "Give feedback" and select the "Ask a question" option.

            Hi @AlexC,

Are you sure about the "Log Work" name ?
When I look at the fields in my project I have "worklog" so I queried worklog.authorDisplayName and not Log Work.AuthorDisplayName

I just tried your Jira formula and I got a "no field found" as values for my worklog subfields.

Where can I create an help ticket ?

            Hi e93e43186bc1,

It does work with the =JIRA() formula.  Here is an example that works:

            =jira("project=RAH","issuekey, summary, worklog.AuthorDisplayName, worklog.timeSpent",0,100

If it's not working for you please feel free to submit a help ticket with your particular example.

It doesn't work using the =JIRA() formula

            I can't query for example : worklog.authorDisplayName.

Any idea if this is gonna be fixed or if this won't be possible at all ?

Good news ... the worklog field is available!  You can find the worklog subfields that are supported if you go to the Fields tab, Edit the fields, and search for worklog.

            Hi Catherine and others,

we are also V E R Y keen on this.

The use case is simple - ask people to log time on issues in JIRA, then you want to use that data = fetch from Jira to Google Sheets to be able to analyse stuff. E.g. Which issues were worked on during last month by whom and what did they do?

Without support for exporting data there is little use for capturing it in the beginning.

            Best regards,

            Henrik

PS. "Currently you can only query issue data" - what are work logs if not issue data?

            Hello,

I make a spreadsheet where I import the CSV from Jira and make a report of hours by month.

            like the screenshot: https://m.imgur.com/gallery/0XygmRz

If anyone want the spreadsheet, I send by email (google)
