      I'd like the ability to create a new Slack channel from within a Jira Service Desk (or Software) issue.  Specifically I'm hoping to automate this action based on the setting of a custom field.  For example, when a JSD issue's custom field, Severity, is set to Sev1 or Sev2, then create a new Slack channel whose name is that of the issue's key (e.g., SERVICE-13).  From that point forward, the Slack channel and the JSD issue should be linked with updates going bi-directionally.

            Please expand this to all Jira products. 

            Please allow for smart variables to be used in the channel name. I would go as far a removing prefix and suffix and just allowing for complete customization of the channel name.

            As per the mail from Atlassian dd 08/02/2024, it is now possible to use the create Slack channel action in automations.
            It includes some smart value capability (although not in the channel name it seems, only hardcoded prefix, issue key and hardcoded suffix).
            The description does include smart value capabilities.

            This is a great idea! Limiting it to JSM....is not. Please roll these things out to the rest of the Jira flavors.

            This would be great to have, since we had this feature in Jira Data Center before upgrading to the Cloud version.

            We had this feature in Jira server and it's gone in Jira cloud.  There are many of us who would like it back! Such a helpful feature.

            Agreed. Creating a channel based on Jira ticket would be fantastic.

            This would be hugely helpful for my organization as well. Sending a message to a specific channel is already available in Jira Cloud Automation. Expanding that feature would be ideal.

            The channel should be created based on the issue name and be related on Jira for fast linking and moving into that channel
