Currently the function JIRA.JQL from Jira Cloud for Excel reports as part of the output log information of the Jira query in Excel. This behavior is not the same for the similar Add-ins: Jira Cloud for Google Spreadsheet that reports only errors.

The suggestion could be: Allow the user to customize the log information reported by Jira Cloud for Excel in the excel output or just to report report this information in the dialog view for the plug-in. Similarly to be able to remove the header as part of the output in case the user wants to return the raw data only.

it has been a year, since I posted this suggestion, any feedback? The main reason for this suggestion is to be able to make calculation on the fly, Without generating the entire output. For example you want to know the number of issue returned, using JIRA.JQL for example:

=ROWS(JIRA.JQL("project=XYZ and issuetype in (Bug)", "Key"))

it still returns all the issues and on the first rows returns 1, I suspect it has to do with the fact that it prints also the log line. Using Google equivalent Add-in it possible to get the expected result.
