Comments sent from Slack to JSM are always public to customers

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

When integrating Slack to JSM (Formerly Jira Service desk), all the comments made directly from the Slack in JSM issues are visible to both agents and customers.

Please, allow the selection of visibility (Internal or Public) from the slack channel.

            Alternative related issues:

API-462 Add Ability to designate comments as Internal from Slack - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.

JRACLOUD-85285 Ability to create internal comments using Slack Integration - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.

I suggest adding your votes to both.

Because this issue was not resolved in Jira Service Management (the replacement for Jira Service Desk Cloud for Slack) it should have been moved to that project (or whatever Slack plugin is being used for it) rather than closed.  This is still a big issue, with our clients getting notifications for messages they should not be seeing.  Even if there was a way to set a default for the Comment button to generate internal-only comments, that would be preferred.

This was closed with a resolution of "Obsolete". If so, what is the replacement ticket that still needs to address this issue?

This is still an issue today (Jan 2023)

Is there another report for the Jira Cloud for Slack app to request this must desired feature?

            Thanks!

            Hi Alan,

This ticket was created under an app called Jira Service Desk Cloud for Slack. Such app was experimental and was discontinued.

Customers who need to integrate JSM with Slack are encouraged to migrate to Halp. Alternatively, the Jira Cloud for Slack app can be used but it doesn't support specific JSM use cases.

            Hope that helps. Cheers!

alan.treston added a comment - Hi @luiz Silva what do you mean by the "Product is discontinued". I understand JIRA service desk is now called JIRA Service Management. Are you saying slack integration is going to be removed from JIRA Service Management? If not then this user story should be re-opened and assigned to JIRA service management.
