Ability to filter Jira projects when setting up an Atlassian Data Lake connection

XMLWordPrintable

      User Problem

Users would like the ability to filter the projects that they choose to include upon the initial setup of a new Atlassian Data Lake connection. When a Jira instance contains a large number of Jira projects, the current UI makes it difficult to only select specific projects to include in a Data Lake connection. These projects currently need to be selected one at a time.

      Suggested Solutions

The suggested solution here is to allow users to filter by Jira project category when choosing which projects they would like to include in an Atlassian Data Lake connection. Currently, users are allowed to search by a specific project name or key when creating a new Data Lake connection, but this experience can be further improved by allowing the user to also filter by project category when selecting which project data to include in the data source.

      Current Workarounds

The only current workaround that exists is that the user will have to individually select the projects that belong to a certain category from the list of all projects that exist in their entire Jira instance. This can be especially cumbersome when a Jira instance contains a very large number of projects and the user has to click through multiple pages of Jira projects upon initial setup of a new Atlassian Data Lake connection.
