Confluence Search Result Should Include Partial Word Match

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

The quick navigation feature (drop down list) in Confluence Quick Search box can be used to search partial word match.

      Steps
      1. Create a page with the name of 2014-03-05 DailyConference
      2. Navigate to Dashboard and use the Quick Search by typing conference
      3. Given that the indexing is done for the new page, the page created in Step 1 will appear in the drop down list
      4. However, pressing 'Enter' with conference search query won't return the new page in the Search Result page

This feature should be implemented in the normal Search as well.

[AI-842] Confluence Search Result Should Include Partial Word Match

Hi all, as a result of the improvements we've made to Confluence search over the past year (including semantic search) we've tested and believe this ticket is now fixed

Too bad companies still tend to use Confluence with defects like this. Atlassian was quick to jump on the AI wagon but basic search and lack of performance makes it unbearable.

I find it very surprising that partial word match is not included in Confluence for years. I consider it a MUST-HAVE feature for any knowledge base system.

So, please add it. It is really so difficult / costly?

We are having this issue with the cloud version. Is is a huge issue - and stopped our firm intention to use Confluence as Knowledge Base. This is a very important feature for us - with this issue, we will get zero user acceptance.

For the record, among my colleagues Confluence search has a reputation of "not finding what you are looking for" by now.
