Ability to search within collapsed macros

      As a user, I want to be able to use my browser's search on a page to find results within collapsed macros. Affected macros include the Expand and Code Block macros.

            Is anyone aware if this will be fixed in V8.5.x? I am currently on V7.19.22 of a restricted corp tenant that does not allow me to integrate JavaScript and as of now this seems to be the only solution/workaround.

            We solved this at TransferWise by doing this  (Not sure if comments with external links are working, I may have triple posted this...)

            Our users cry that Confluence search doesn't work. They are trying to search terms used in collapsed expand areas and it doesn't work.

            This is very inconvenient and also kind of gives impression that it just "Doesn't work".

            Are we expected to create some kind of "Collapsed areas terms index" matrix when having extended documentation on single pages.

            Would it be possible to at least verify after two years ?

            @Atlassian: Could you please explain why this doesn't work and or what is your excuse for this design withheld for years ?
