Errors at the Review Groups and Sync option

      Problem

      We found that in a New Admin Experience Org, on the Review groups and sync option, before clicking on the Review button for the specific group, the user has the option the update the name of that group through Directory >> Groups >> groupName Show details option >> three dots (beside Add group members) >> Edit group name. Depending on the scenario, it throws a 412 or 500 error on the browser console.

      Steps to Reproduce

      Go to admin.atlassian.com >> yourOrg  >> Security >> Identity providers >> yourIDP >> Click on Review groups and sync option >> Review groups. The screen will be displayed empty or with the groups to review but with errors.

      Expected Results

      The "Review groups before sync" window appears, with the group(s) to select.

      The "Review group and sync" window will appear, without issues, when you review any changes to users before syncing.

      Actual Results

      Two scenarios:

      1. If the user returns to the Review groups and sync option without refreshing/reloading the page and clicking the Review button for that specific group, a pop-up specifies the options to remove or add users according to the group sync. If you expand any option, instead of seeing the users be deleted/added, you will see the below message:
        • We ran into an issue loading this list. Try again.
        • If you continue the sync, and click on the Sync group button, a 500 error will be displayed on the browser console, and a new group will be created with the name specified in OKTA (it doesn't synchronize with the specified group in Atlassian).
      2.  For this second scenario, if the user returns to the Review groups and sync option and refreshes/reloads the page. An empty Review groups before sync window will appear, but without a group to select.

       

      Workaround

      1. Go to your admin.atlassian.com >> Select your Organization >> Directory >> Groups >> On the Groups page, search for Group Name and click on Show details action.
      2. On your Group Name page, click the three dots on the right (it is beside the Add group members button), and select the Edit group name option.
      3. A pop-up will appear there. Rename the group name to the same name in your IdP.
      4. Reload/refresh the page.
      5. Afterward, you can return to your IdP and click the Review groups option. The group(s) should be displayed now.

      Notes

      Error message:

      "2 groups could not be synced
      These groups have the same name as groups that already exist in your organization. Before you can sync these groups, rename the groups in your identity provider."
