Resolution: Deployed
Problem Definition
When a user has not uploaded a personal avatar, the system will default to use their initials with that appears to be a random colored background. However there is no easy way for the end user to change that background color of that user avatar. This can make it difficult for some users with color blindness to be able to discern the differences between avatars.
Suggested Solution
Implement a means for end users and/or administrators to change the background color of the default user avatar
Why this is important
Accessibility and ease of use for identifying different users on the site
Workaround
Currently, the only workaround to this would be to first download the existing avatar image file, and then use an image editor to change that background color manually. Once completed, you could save that file and then upload it under https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/profile-and-visibility
This feature has been shipped. This has started rolling out to sites last week and in turn will be deployed globally this week.
