Task Planning board does not display correctly in IE8 when compatibility view is enabled...

When viewing the Task Board in Internet Explorer 8, the "Done" column doesn't display until you mouse over it. This happens if you have the "compatibility view" enabled, and stops if you turn that view off. This view can be set per site, and is ticked automatically for the "Local Intranet" security zone, so if you encounter this problem, the workaround is to check those settings and make sure you're not loading the compatibility view for your JIRA instance.
