    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Server. Using JIRA Service Desk Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Current the Cloud emails are not TLS encrypted and it is not possible to set configure the mail servers to allow to TLS as well.

Due to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSD-1371 , customer tried to use another workaround to not create a domain email per SD project ( it's $50 per account on gmail domain).

To have a better understanding, here is what the customer is attempting.

      1. Set up each SD project with a cloud email address (i.e. not a custom email address). The cloud email address would be for example psgam-support@lautus.atlassian.net.
Change the SD project email address to the cloud email address psgam-support@lautus.atlassian.net (or optionally psgam-support@lautus.net, it does not really matter)
      2. In google apps admin > apps > gmail > default routing add an entry to rewrite email to psgam-support@lautus.net to psgam-support@lautus.atlassian.net using the route 'lautus.atlassian.net'.
      3. Multiple @lautus.net emails can be forwarded to the same SD project cloud email address (@lautus.atlassian.net) if needed. This should be avoided if possible as it is only possible to configure one project email address which is what is used for notifications.

The only problem currently with this setup is that the atlassian mail server that handles the @lautus.atlassian.net mail is not supporting TLS i.e. encryption
