Excel export layout became worse with the new JIRA version

We are using the excel export feature a lot. The reports we get out of the previous version from JIRA (JIRA 3.0.3 Professional) are rendered perfect and could be used as it was.
After our upgrade to JIRA 3.5 professional the excel exports became worse. The layout is terrible and cannot be used without a lot of manual formating.

I attach two excel sheets which displays the layout with version 3.0.3 (perfect-layout.xls) and with version 3.5 (broken-layout.xls).

Our expectation is that the new Jira version will at least deliver the same excel export format we used to have from the pervious version.
