    Description

      Problem Definition

Jira data pipeline jobs may fail for any sort of reasons.

Currently, the only way to know if a scheduled job failed is by checking the data pipeline admin page.

      Suggested Solution

Data pipeline should have a feature to notify Jira administrators when a job fails.
It could be through a health check alert or through any other notification method, such as email, Slack or Teams.

      Workaround

Configure an Automation for Jira rule to send this type of notification, similar to what is described on this Atlassian Community post.

Administrators may also want to configure their APM tools to query the GET /rest/datapipeline/latest/export REST API to create alerts when the last job doesn't report the status as completed.
