Ability to add a web link to an issue create screen in JIRA

Problem Definition

Within the Issue Create Screen of JIRA, you currently cannot configure the screen to display a web link field.  While you can select the "Linked Issues" field, this only allows you to link to existing issues in JIRA, and not to remote web sites.

Suggested Solution

I'm not sure if this requires the web links to have a separate field definition from other Issue links within JIRA in order to accomplish, however this would be a nice feature to have for environments that would want to say for example, require a web link exist for an issue to be created.

Workaround

You could try to create a custom field and place that on the create screen in order to store this URL data.  However this obviously would not be displayed within JIRA as a web link/issue link would display.
