Cross-application workbox (Notifications & Tasks)

Once the OnDemand UI was changed, the new notification feature is now only available when in the wiki context instead of always being available to you.

So, unless you happen to be in that side, you are not aware of new notifications or able to view the notifications and manage your tasks. This same type of feature is very beneficial to always keep in the context of the user as many times, wiki spaces relate directly to jira projects and tasks can cross both.
