Every time we end a sprint, every person in the team gets several HUNDRED e-mails about every task which left the sprint, and then again when the tasks is assigned to the following sprint. This is not useful.
Please modify the notification options to allow this to be disabled.

Can the problem described be remedied yet? It was closed as Won't Do so I assume not?
I came here because this seemed the most discussed version of this issue, though, quite old...

Due to the large volume of JIRA feature suggestions, we have to prioritise our development efforts. In part, that means concentrating on those issues that resonate the most with our users.

added a comment - We, too, desperately need the ability to suppress notification when a sprint is ended. We also need the ability to suppress notification when manually moving an issue between sprints. The latter could be supported sufficiently (though tediously) by letting us change sprints from within the Edit page of each issue, and letting us suppress email notification of changes in the Edit page, but apparently we are wrong in having desire because we are idiots, according to the Atlassian staff's responses in the forums.

Sigh. Since apparently it's my job to move tickets between queues, and you haven't given me the Move permission. I tried to clone but I can't change the project.
As I'm sure that you have the Move permission, how about that you do this?

As a paying Atlassian customer, I don't spend my free time learning how Atlassian separates out tickets that are specific to custom fields added by the GreenHopper plugin. I EXPECT ATLASSIAN TO HANDLE THAT.
