      When judging how 'popular' a feature/bug request is, one has to rely on votes. However there are other good indicators of popularity:

      • Number of comments
      • Page views
      • Links to this bug from other bugs

      It would be interesting to have a 'Popularity' rating, comprising a combination of the above variables in some (user-specifiable) proportion. Votes would become just another parameter to feed into the equation. Users could also plug in their own algorithms, eg. using a value of a custom field to influence popularity.
