      Atlassian Update - 22 April 2015

      Hi everyone,

Thanks for voting and commenting on this issue. Your input in the comments helps us understand how this affects you and what you're hoping to accomplish with JIRA.

At this time, this suggestion is not on the JIRA development roadmap. However, there is a free add-on on the Marketplace with this functionality: Bulk Move Subtasks JIRA Add-on.

Please remember that jira.atlassian.com is one of many inputs for the JIRA roadmap. You can learn more about our process here.

I understand that our decision may be disappointing. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

      Regards,

Currently it's not possible to perform a bulk operation on a bunch of sub-tasks to move them to a new parent. This is rather annoying when splitting subtasks off from one task to another (e.g. from a "miscellaneous" task to a specific task once a set of sub-tasks gets large).

It would be great to be able to change the parents of any sub-tasks in a group when a move operation is specified. This seems to make sense anyways and would also allow moving subtasks (along with regular tasks!) to a new project if the new parent task was in the new project.
