Cannot authorise "Created vs Resolved Chart" gadget in Confluence

In Confluence...
1) Log in->Create a page.
2) Insert Macro->External Content->Created Vs Resolved Chart.
Currently, we are not authenticated with JIRA.
3) Type <space> into the "Project or Saved Filter:" field.
4) The "Login & Approve" button will now appear. Click it.
5) In the window that appears, log in to JIRA and allow access.
We should now be authenticated with JIRA, and the login button has disappeared as expected.
6) Type <space> into the "Project or Saved Filter:" field again.
The login prompt appears again.

At no point are we authenticated or able to access any data from JIRA. Neither are we able to insert the gadget into the page. This makes the gadget unusable in Confluence.
