Need to document how to translate bundled plugins

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      JIRA now ships with bundled plugins that have translations of their own, separate from those in JiraWebActionSupport.properties

      For instance, the dashboard has "Add Gadget". If you want to translate then you need to

      • unzip the file WEB-INF/classes/com/atlassian/jira/plugin/atlassian-bundled-plugins.zip
      • figure out which plugin owns the string you want to translate
      • unjar the jar
      • add your translations
      • re-jar the plugin
      • rezip the bundled-plugins.zip
      • start JIRA and see if it worked

      We don't document this anywhere right now.
