      The problem

      The mail handler configured in JIRA > ⚙ > System > Incoming Mail does not have a functionality that removes signatures from email.
      This can be quite an issue when some users reply by email with a huge signature, and a very long comment is added to an existing JIRA ticket. The more comments are added by email, the more a user will have to scroll down in the ticket to get to the relevant information.

      Solution

      Improve the JIRA mail handler to strip email signatures.
