We have a need for a custom field that uses a suggest style mechanism.

We have around 2000 customers and need to be able to select the customer when creating an issue. We have tried using the cascading select, but find that that page takes too long for the browser to render thus making it unusable.

As the guys entering the tickets tend to type into the select (and let the browser jump to the right item) it would be handy if there was a field similar to the user picker that helps someone select an option by typing whilst constraining them to only the available options.
