Create Linked Issue: should link new issue to the selected issue not the parent epic

      Problem Definition

      Creating a Linked issue using the actions drop down under Issues in Epic will link the ticket back to the Parent Epic ticket and not the Selected issue.

      Suggested Solution

      Creating a linked issue using the actions menu should create a new issue linked to the selected issue and not the parent Epic.

      Workaround

      Open up the Issue found under Issues in Epic in a new tab > Menu in top right (...) > Create Linked issue

      Note

      This is happening when creating the links from Parent Task to Sub-Task. See JRA-302080.
