When the CVS root (eg. '/home/cvspublic' in :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:/home/cvspublic) is a symlink, or the module directories are symlinks, then JIRA's CVS log parsing fails.
"Error parsing cvs log: RCS filename '/home/cvs/project.xml,v' does not start with the provided root '/home/cvspublic'"
This is because JIRA tries to guess the root path from the CVSROOT, and in the case of symlinks (or aliases - see JRA-4586) guesses wrongly. We should allow this root to be explicitly set.
