    Description

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Currently JIRA doesn't provide functionality for copying value from one field and its contents to another. Especially system field such as components , issue type , etc. Please provide the ability to do so in product.

      Workaround

      1. export your issue to excel : https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Exporting+Search+Results+to+Microsoft+Excel
      2. modify the value in excel
      3. import back your excel to JIRA by converting it to CSV : https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Importing+Data+from+CSV
