NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.
Project:
If you search for issues query which has no results, it correctly says:
No issues were found to match your search
Try modifying your search criteria or creating a new issue
However, if you then do a search which takes a while (i.e. large project), it still says the following while the search is being preformed with no indication that JIRA is doing the search until the search is completed:
No issues were found to match your search
Try modifying your search criteria or creating a new issue
This is confusing to users as they believe the search is done due to the "No issues were found [...]" message still displaying from the previous search which had no results. When the current search is actually still running, thus users alter the query when they don't need to.
Suggestion:
I would think that as soon as a new query is initiated, it should blank the previous message or present some feedback that the query is still running.
Duplications Steps:
- Do a search with no results, created > 1d
- Do another search on the same screen which takes a while, project = someLargeProject.
