Unable to comment on Confluence page via JIRA Activity Stream

    Description

      NOTE: This bug report is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding bug report.

      Steps to replicate:

      1. In OnDemand, create a JIRA dashboard and add the 'activity stream' gadget. Ensure this gadget shows Confluence activity
      2. In a linked Confluence OnDemand instance, create a page
      3. Return to the previously created dashboard and hit 'comment' below the activity item created by the actions in step 2
      4. Enter any text and then click 'Add'

      Result:

      The error 'There was an error communicating with the remote server.' is thrown:

      And the following appears in the logs:
