Forms unable to handle default system colors which are not dark on light

      Forms where text is entered, such as this one, have improper color specifications, and may be illegible depending on the default colors of the user's desktop or widgets or graphical tool kit.

      To observe the problem, set the colors of the desktop environment to have a light foreground color, such as white, and dark background color. Then attempt to use JIRA. I experience this problem with Firefox/Iceweasel and Konqueror on Debian GNU/Linux.
