      We understand that this would be a valuable feature for you, however, given the high volume of feature suggestions for Jira, we must prioritize those that provide the most value to the majority of our users.

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Create a custom field that increments by one every time a new issue is created, so users can then use that number to track Product Requirements or Purchase Orders for example.
       

      Workaround

      Use an Automation rule as described here. Please be mindful of your Automation service limits.
