It is crazy that you can't bulk edit either the Summary or the Description fields - I would like to see at least the ability to update a string so you wouldn't have to manually update the Summary fields....

Is this feature not realizable or why is this issue closed? I think many users want this feature.

I'm sad, this will be very useful for me, I use issues default in a Epic that are recurrent in all projects, I want to change summary to be more understandable in more than 100 issues... 

Same here. Why was this closed with no explanation ? That makes me angry ! It typical that Jira in their infinite wisdom (not) completely fail to listen the needs of their customers. Guess why i dont choose Jira authored plug-ins ????

I have a case where I have 15 issues connected to an Epic and i want to append (add) to the summary's XYZ, so its easier to see what the issues relate to.

This is a very reasonable request. I don't understand why it was closed. Not just for Jira but also for Confluence. It is a basic functionality search/replace something. It does not have to be just the summary field, it can apply to a description field or any other. For example just to update the content of several stories related that refers to the same string that needs to be changed or updated.

I know this ticket it closed, but this would be a very useful feature. Like Steve Kufer, we use JIRA for asset management and it would be nice to bulk change the summary for JIRA cloud.

Yes, we would also like the ability to change and replace Summary. Dave, I wanted to exactly the same thing. Export --> change then Import. Did that work for you? Were you able to map or override the rest of the fields?
