    Description

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

This issue affects all versions of JIRA up to the present day. To reproduce

      i) type a search term into "Quick Search"
      ii) press the back button
      iii) press the forward button

Some variety of confusing dialogs ensue, but the user does not return to their search. All searches have the URL, for example https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa rather than a URL which is related to the search, of the style that has been popular pretty much since search engines have been invented (e.g. Google).

In the recent versions of JIRA, we now get the EXTRA dialog from JIRA itself "Unsaved changes - confirm that you want to navigate away" - in addition to the dialogs from the browser "Confirm form resubmission". This is an awkward user experience that interrupts this very common workflow. Please could you supply proper URLs at least for the case of simple searches as has been common in commercial search engines for a long time - it is understandable if complex JQL searches are not bookmarkable and degrade, but it should be possible to supply URL support for a variety of straightforward searches.

      Many thanks
