Put the support backup Anonymizer into JIRA BTF

Details

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

    Description

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Idea taken from here https://confluence.atlassian.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=154633652

Support often takes data from customers where there's still a bit of overhead and time involved in getting the data from the customer to a working state in support.

      What currently happends:

      • Support needs to convince customers that our data anonymizer is safe enough for them to trust (it really isn't)
      • Customer follows that guide (sometimes with difficulty, needing more bounces) and attaches the backup
      • Support needs to restore the backup locally
        • Turn off emailing
        • Worry about CDATA cleaning
        • Change the passwords to sphere
        • Change any cwd_directory info disabling everything but local directory
        • Worry about any remote groups and make them local groups also
      • Then we can log in and start troubleshooting

      Request
It would be great if JIRA BTF's internal backup facility could just do this, use joost.jar to anonymise a backup on request and send it off to a support issue all in one go - just tick a box "anomonize backup for Atlassian support" and there it is.
