Ability to disable Log Work entirely but leave Time Tracking on, for use with Tempo

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

Customers may want to do all their time tracking from within Tempo, but even when disabling the Log Work field, the "Work Log" tab at the bottom of issues still shows, as does the "Log Work" option underneath More Actions.

It should be possible to totally disable the Log Work options, but still have Time Tracking on in the background.

Hi, well, we have now similar requirement of our customer not happy to see no chance to do it.

I think it was very wrong decision to close this issue. It forces OnDemand users such as our company to switch back to JIRA Server which I think is a regression. Basically this issue makes it impossible to have any timesheet workflow within JIRA. Timesheet management is required for most companies above certain level of size. Would you be able to reopen this issue or think about some workaround solution for OnDemand users?

Thanks for everyone's feedback and votes.

We've taken a look and we've decided that we won't be working this feature in the near future. We will be focusing our development efforts on other work that we believe will deliver a better overall experience.

Please note that votes is one of the determining factors that we use to plan our roadmaps, for a full description please read our blog post: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/110373/how-does-the-jira-team-use-jira-atlassian-com.

This is also a big issue for us with OnDemand-Version.

This is still an issue 3/March/2014 in OnDemand. Should I instruct all users to use one link over the other? Can I disable JIRA Timesheets for OnDemand or does that hose Tempo?

There is a way to disable this module in the Downloaded version of JIRA, but apparently not in OnDemand by the local admin. Does anyone know if Atlasssian would disable this in on OnDemand instance if a support request were submitted?

@sverrir - there is no "Issue Operations Plugin", see:

            Version is: Atlassian JIRA (v6.1#6144-sha1:2e50328)

I have this problem on JIRA onDemand, is it correct that the workaround solution does not work for JIRA onDemand customers?
When trying to disable the "View Issue Ops Bar Work Link" I just see a message "Module cannot be modified".
