Allow Notification Schemes to be linked to separate SMTP servers

      It would be great if we could create multiple SMTP server configurations with atleast different from configurationsa and then be able to attach an SMTP server to a notification scheme.

      These would enable, together with an EmailHander service, one to create projects with separate email addresses that would be completely integrated to JIRA.

      For example:
      One customer support project sends emails out as support@domain.com. JIRA EmailHandler listens to this box and creates comments from incoming email.

      An internal helpdesk project could then be created that sends out emails as helpdesk@domain.com. JIRA EmailHandler could listen to this box and create comments from incoming email.

      CreateIssueHandler would then be easier to configure since both projects have totally separate email addresses. No user needs to remember two email addresses to comment or create issues.

            Please add this. I think previous comments here already stated that this function is needed for most organizational groups that use JIRA.

            We use gmail smtp server and are limited to 2000 emails sent out. Well, we have reached that limit several times and notifications are queue over to the error queue. As you can imagine, this is a real problem for users. I am not sure, but hope, that if we can have multiple smtp servers, then we would double or triple the number of notifications going out.

            Any word on this? In Jira 6.1 this still seems to be out of the picture and it already have been 10 years from the creation of this issue!

            We would like to like separate SMTP servers per project, in order to correctly configure incoming mail handlers to route new requests/comments on per project basis.

            I'm not sure how corporate users (like myself) can configure JIRA projects to send out mails with different email addresses if they are not able to configure differente SMTP accounts. Unless they want their data to go through 3rd party mail servers.
            With increased security these days SMTP servers need you to log in in order to send mails.

            Voting for the issue as not to open a duplicate but my request to allow separate SMTP based on the domain being sent to.
