Update a field in an issue where the field is NOT on the relevant screen

      Created at customer request for [https://support.atlassian.com/browse/JSP-28269|JSP-28269]: "I have a script that maintains a custom field based on other information in the issue and information in linked issues. The script uses the "updateIssue" function in the soap API and works fine. However, we don't want anyone updating the field manually via the "edit" screen. When I remove the field from the edit screen, "updateIssue" does NOT update the field."
