permlink does not store the configured columns of a filter in the url

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      define a filter
      give it a column order
      give it a sort order
      run the filter
      observe that the permlink URL correctly contains the ordering fields, but does not list the columns in the filter

      This means that if the permlink is sent to a user with a different default filter column set, the permlink will not give the same view of the data
